The name's alphabetical placement, according to www.damascus-online.com is "Kawakibi, Abdul Rahman al-"[1]. Since "listas=" and DEFAULTSORT function in a more-specific fashion with the elimination of spaces and symbols [other than the central separation comma and space], the name, for the purpose of sorting, is rendered as "Kawakibi, Abdalrahmanal", with "Abdalrahmanal" representing "Abd al-Rahman al-".—Roman Spinner (talk) 14:51, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
