Formal request has been received from ZeusAmmon1 to merge Advergames (14k) and In-game advertising (29k)(B class) into Advertising in video games (30k).

Reason given by proposer: All Wikipedia pages refers to same (or mostly same) things, it could be merged under one title. Otherwise they will mainly means same things and eventually at least one of them will become directly duplicate page.

Oppose There is such a thing as a broad concept article. There is no evidence that each of these totally fleshed out articles are non-notable enough to require a merge. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 06:40, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

Support this isn't a question of notability but of WP:CONTENTFORKs where two articles cover substantially the same material. "Content forks that are created unintentionally result in redundant or conflicting articles and are to be avoided, as the goal of a single source of truth is preferable in most circumstances." It wouldn't be easy to combine these articles (I suggest starting with just "Advertising in video games" combined with "In-game advertising") but I believe they would be of better service to our readers. @Jontesta: I disagree, none of the articles are forks. They only overlap insamuch as the overview gives a brief description of the topic. You cannot honestly say that there is as much information on both subjects in the individual articles as in the overview. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 10:21, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

• Comment I haven't formulated a firm opinion on advergames yet but in-game advertising and advertising in video games seem to have a heavy overlap. I think there might be grounds to merge those two at least. Axem Titanium (talk) 04:48, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
• Comment Here is the difference between in-game advertising and advergames, in examples. Hope this clears up come confusion.
  • In-game advertising: Monster Energy appearing in Death Stranding.
  • Advergame: I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin' Good Dating Simulator. Wait, we have an article on this game!? MilkyDefer 15:32, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
