Portugal To-do:

Find correct name The airport is not listed as João Paulo II anywhere. The airport's own website calls itself simply Ponta Delgada, and has no mention of João Paulo.

  • Category:History of Portugal: lots to remove there
  • Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).

So did he die on May 12 or May 28? --Naddy 18:46, 12 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Choice of portrait of Afonso IV[edit]

Cristiano, which portrait is most suitable to the article is debatable, but the style of the portrait you've restored is much more primitive and less painterly than the one you reverted, which is admittedly less flattering. That, however, should not be the criterion by which we judge the artistry of the portrait. Contrary to your subjective opinion of which is the better image, his rendering of the armor alone is enough to demonstrate the superior skill of the painter of the earlier portrait. Carlstak (talk) 15:24, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I agree that whether the image is flattering to the subject or not is completely irrelevant and that the painting itself is of a lesser caliber than the original, but I think the other's actual image quality (pixels, colouration, etc.) is just horrendous, therefor I believe the better quality one (in terms of image quality and not subject quality) would be better suited - though obviously both are not perfectly ideal. Do you see what I mean? Cristiano Tomás (talk) 21:24, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I see what you mean, although personally, I would accept the degraded image quality to have what I consider an image more expressive of Afonso's character. It's not a big issue, so I can live with your choice. Carlstak (talk) 23:04, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
