Birth year

[edit]

According to an edition of the Anticlaudianus published in 1987:

Anticlaudianus, or, The good and perfect man, c1987; p. 9-10, Alain died between Apr. 14, 1202 and Apr. 5, 1203, using Paschal method of reckoning years; born 1116 or 1117 based on forensic examination; earlier scholarship had placed his birth ca. 1128.

Is this combined with the statement in the article that he was born some years before 1128 enough to justify changing the date and birth category?--FeanorStar7 (talk) 12:59, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why is the Rhetorica ad Herennium attributed to Alain? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.17.143.200 (talk) 19:13, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He was not French nor was Rijsel (Lille) at the time annexed into France.
