Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because it is has no commercial intentions. Alvin Achenbaum has donated his professional papers to Duke University's Hartman Center and his book about the contributions he made to the advertising, market research and marketing industries. The book is available for download free from his website. Our intention is to preserve Achenbaum's legacy for marketing scholars````

As a reviewing admin, I have declined the request for this article to be speedy deleted, and I have removed some of the problematic POV language. However, you are obviously a relative of this individual, and I cannot imagine you could write in a neutral way about him. More importantly, though, is the lack of reliable sources to verify any of the claims in this article. It is also not very encyclopedic - it is about a person, but does not even say if he is still living or dead??
I am willing to give this article a week to get references together. Otherwise, I may nominate it for a deletion discussion. Singularity42 (talk) 22:46, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the opportunity to continue to work on this article. I will work to improve the objectivity of the article and to make it more encyclopedic. I will add additional links and sources and will clean up the editing and problematic language. Could you please give me one more week to do this?Barbachenbaum 12:41, 14 November 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Barbachenbaum (talkcontribs)

I have updated the Alvin Achenbaum entry in an attempt to address weaknesses identified by the Administrator. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Barbachenbaum (talkcontribs) 16:10, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
