"Socioeconomics" section is problematic[edit]

I would point out that the section on "Socioeconomics" is problematic and perhaps even borderline antisemitic. The entirety of the section hyper-focuses on the cliched notion of American Jews as a fundamentally middle-class to upper-class "model minority". Almost no mention is made of poor and working-class Jews. No mention is made that poverty is increasing in some Jewish communities (usually Orthodox). No mention is made of the socioeconomic effects of marginalization on Jews of color, disabled Jews, etc. Passing mention is made of "small pockets of poverty", even though it is likely that somewhere between 15% to 25% of American Jews are poor. The fact that "model minority" is listed as the "Main article" for Jewish socioeconomic status in the US is at best questionable. Not all American Jews fit into the "model minority" trope, not all are college-educated white professionals, and the article should be amended to reflect the true socioeconomic diversity of the Jewish community beyond dated stereotypes. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 02:30, 3 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Furthermore, this section is obnoxious and stereotypical: "Education plays a major role as a part of Jewish identity; as Jewish culture puts a special premium on it and stresses the importance of cultivation of intellectual pursuits, scholarship and learning, American Jews as a group tend to be better educated and earn more than Americans as a whole." The notion that the educational achievements of some American Jews is due solely to Jewish culture's supposedly innate respect for education - and that Jewish income levels are solely due to this reverence for education - is someone's model minority-style opinion, and should be presented as such. I don't think I need to elaborate the racist, classist, anti-Black worldview that is essential to the model minority myth. Bohemian Baltimore (talk) 04:24, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

unclear ethnic pattern[edit]

Jews in America describe themselves as: Ukrainian, Russian, and German?

There is clearly an unclear and obstructed pattern in their ethnic groups!

The above heading lists 300K under Israel. What is this figure representing? It's not the Jewish population in Israel clearly Apeholder (talk) 10:33, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
