What is the relevance of the pictures in this article?

[edit]

I'm not sure what the three images in the right-hand section are doing. They don't really seem to be relevant to the text of the article at all? Bpmurphy (talk) 09:03, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Pinging @Larsson10: who added them, to participate in the discussion. Schazjmd (talk) 14:23, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see what the editor was trying to do, but they impart little information at best. Especially given their size, and in comparison to the amount of text in the article, and the paucity of the captions. Perhaps the Mayflower compact be kept because it's evocative to the general reading public of similar images of the founding of the nation, parallel to nations, but improved caption to tie it to the text? Portraits of individuals are useless here, IMO, and we definitely don't want to invite 8 more images so each nation is represented. JesseRafe (talk) 15:37, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
A larger, clearer version of the map shown on the book cover would be much appreciated. --Khajidha (talk) 11:42, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I agree but I can't find one with acceptable licensing, and I don't believe a non-free version would meet the requirements of WP:FAIRUSE. Schazjmd (talk) 14:40, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews

[edit]

Here we have a book that is purportedly about history, yet not one review from a professional historian in this section. Just geographers and journalists. That might have something to do with the fact that Woodward is not a real historian and his theories are flawed enough that most professional historians ignore them. Jonathan f1 (talk) 19:23, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what your point is. Editors can't do anything about the lack of reviews by historians. Schazjmd (talk) 20:26, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
