Please clarify the size of the circle

[edit]

>For a beginner the circle is six to twelve feet in diameter

What size is the circle for an intermediate or advanced practitioner? Larger or smaller? SenexQuondam (talk) 13:25, 11 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Origin of BaGuaZhang

[edit]

I would like to discuss the origin of BaGua Zhang as a potential change to the article. After many years of research I know for fact that Song Wei-Yi was a real guy who had learned BaGua Zhang from a Taoist priest who was supposedly Dong Hai Chuan's shibo. Song Wei-Yi claimed he could trace his lineage back to Zhang San Feng, which is probably where the legends came from. The references in this article regarding the origins are a bit weak for my tastes anyway. Please read this article and post any relevant citations and information that includes Song Wei-Yi's lineage: http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=10415 TommyKirchhoff (talk) 21:28, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pop Culture Section Removal

[edit]

This section is not relevant to understanding what Baguazhang is. It mostly is an arbitrary section specifically for advertising that has no functional limit to the number of references that could be added. These list type sections serve to do little other than junk up a page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bverji (talkcontribs) 02:53, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Focus on exercise, meditation, etc.

[edit]

The article exclusively refers to martial arts aspects.

In modern times Bagua appears to also sometimes be extended (or should I say "restricted") to cover exercises that are purely focused on exercise, meditation, etc.. Example: [1]. I think this should be mentioned in the article.
