[edit]Far too much information on Starr's relationship with Mariah Carey, and hardly anything about Starr herself. From what I've read elsewhere, Starr appears to be a notable recording artist in her own right, so this shouldn't be too hard to remedy. Extraordinary Machine 21:20, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, but you have to recognize the public's fascination with someone who had such a significant role in the rise and rise of Mariah Carey -- did Mariah abandon her old friend as soon as she tasted superstardom? is there any lingering ill-will between the two? what is their current relationship now? -- as well as curiosity over their current relationship may be. It's only natural, after all. But I believe that since you made this remark, there has been some effort to expand the article in the direction you intended. -- Jalabi99 03:09, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Let's be more specific here. "Did Mariah abandon her old friend as soon as she tasted superstardom?" It's either that, or Brenda was just being jealous. As for the other two, in both cases, that's what I want to know. Until then, I won't be following any of their careers. As for the article itself. For what it's worth, until I learned abou this on Wikipedia, I had no idea that Carey and Starr's relationship was more than as just colleagues.
- Brenda K. Starr was jealous and that's the reason why she said that the name MIMI as a nickname for Mariah was just a promotional thing to sell more copies. That statement was obviously a lie because in some of her older songs, like on the album "Charmbracelet" artists called her Mimi in songs and her family does call her that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MicP (talk • contribs) 19:08, 5 March 2007 (UTC).
Breakfast in Bed vs. Desayuno de Amor
[edit]Folks, has anyone know that this Spinish song is called "Breakfast in Bed" means "Desayuno de Amor"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.90.178.88 (talk) 21:39, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
No it doesn't. It means breakfast of love. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.205.33.223 (talk) 04:12, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
What about her version of "Cuba" with El Mariachi?
[edit]Brenda also had a regional hit with the remake of "Cuba", originally sung by the Gibson Brothers. (the remake was attributed to the group El Mariachi, but with Brenda on lead vocals). Why isn't that mentioned here?
