Who was who?

If Caelius Vibenna helped Romulus in the war against Tatius (as Varro and Propertius say), how could he be involved in the story of the times of Servius Tullius? This is pure imagination.

Probably they were two different charachters, being that a very common name.

Interesting the interpretations of the frescos of Vulci. The evidence seems to show that the brothers Vibenna were killed by Macstrna Servius and Tarchon Rumach. Cf. H.S. Versnel on Hermeneus, who says the head found on the Capitolium (caput Oli) was that Aulus Vibenna. Before it was named Tarpeius. Zanzan32 (talk) 04:04, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pure imagination pretty much sums up the story of Romulus. I think it's widely accepted that Caelius Vibenna was more likely a contemporary of Servius Tullus than of Romulus. Claudius thought so.
