Verification

[edit]

I removed this from the article because the 1911 Britannica does not make an up to date source for this type of information: "Around their wrists and ankles they wear rings of twisted hair. They cultivate mandioc, and make pottery and bark canoes." Previously had been removed "They are a fine warlike race, with remarkably clear complexions and handsome features" and references to cannibalism. The only other thing I could find on the web was this, but it is in Portuguese and only mentions the Catauxi once. At best it could be used for more info on generalizations of the peoples in the area, but at least it verifies their existence. The source I did add was basically a circular reference which is subpar, but I felt it was better than nothing until better sources might be able to be found. - Taxman Talk 19:55, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
