Wrong reference?
[edit]The current reference #10, "Rogers, Meyric R.; Thorne, James Ward (1940-12). "American Rooms in Miniature by Mrs. James Ward Thorne". Bulletin of the Art Institute of Chicago (1907-1951). 34 (7): 108." is surely a mistake? It has nothing to do with the statement that "some strains do not grow well on embryonic chicken eggs". I could delete it, but I have no idea what the intended reference is. RebeccaGreen (talk) 12:15, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Why different strains? (influenza)
[edit]For N. Hemisphere 2021 and 2022 (for example), egg-based (served as an omelette) vaccine used (as one of four strains)
an A/Wisconsin/588/2019 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus
whereas for cell-based and recombinant vaccines used
an A/Victoria/2570/2019 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus
I hadn't found a reference that stated the reason for the difference. It's not the timing of the release of the specifications because this same pair of viruses appears 2 years in a row. There is probably some difference between how the selected H1N1 viruses grow in the different culture, but that's just speculation. It would be good if someone could find an explanation for the difference. Unitacx (talk) 02:28, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
