Proof

[edit]

I never drink alcohol (tho i've never been an alcoholic), except to taste something unique (e.g. Fireball Vodka/Fireball vodka/Ah! Fireball Cinnamon Whisky). But despite that extreme attitude of mine, i find omission of proof (alcohol) (or typical proof for generics) from articles on alcoholic beverages a gross violation of WP standards. (And i remember not only enjoying CH in my briefly wild youth, but --- more to the point --- reading the proof on the label.) So what gives here?
