Titles of Nobility & other issues[edit]

1) Per the wiki pages of the Commanders in Chief Listed:

Itō Sukeyuki - Viscount 5 August 1898 (after) Arichi Shinanojō - Baron: 5 June 1896 Tōgō Heihachirō - Count: 21 September 1907 (after) Ijūin Gorō - Baron: 1907 (before) Yamashita Gentarō - Baron: 10 November 1928 (after) Suzuki Kantarō - Baron: 20 November 1936 (after)

Only Admiral Ijūin should be listed with a title of nobility on the list. Admiral Arichi's should be a note like the promotions.

2) The reformat of the list has created the issue where some Admirals are listed in Western order and some in Japanese order depending on how their own wiki pages are formatted. In the interest of consistency I would suggest that any future edits to the list contain all the names in the same order.

3) The reformat of the list is in a single table. My prior edit had separated the Combined Fleet into 3 separate "eras" and included vacancies. I think this is more consistent with how other posts are handled on this wiki when there's a change in purpose or a long period between holders so I'd like to suggest reformatting it that way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Justradical (talkcontribs) 21:31, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result was no merge. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 02:06, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest 1st air fleet of the imperial japanese navy to be merged into combined fleet. that article is not very big and nothing a lot to discuss about and i see that 1st air fleet worked from the combined fleet mostly i would assume because of the mobile forward striking group. What do you think? 67.41.192.17 07:35, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose: The 1st Air Fleet was a separate organization from the Combined Fleet, and should have its own (expanded) article -- which I will get around to working on shortly. --MChew (talk) 06:17, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. As above. The air fleets were major military organisations, equivalent to an Allied numbered air force or tactical air force. They deserve individual articles. Grant | Talk 03:48, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
oppose: for the same reasons--Tomtom9041 (talk) 00:41, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
