Requested move 02 February 2015

[edit]

{{requested move/dated|Eleni Theocharous}}

Elena TheoharousEleni Theocharous – Two articles about the same person. I'd like to keep Elena Theoharous but move it to Eleni Theocharous. – Alakzi (talk) 21:49, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:21, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • But the current page Eleni Theocharous is much longer and contains much more information than page Elena Theoharous. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:21, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • We can incorporate whatever's needed, provided we can source it. We don't need to enumerate every single one of her achievements. I think this page makes for a better starting point. Alakzi (talk) 22:40, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge Elena into Eleni - yes, the Elena article was slightly older, from 2008 instead of 2009, and it looks like maybe the 2009 was created by a user unfamiliar with the WP:RM procedures, but as Anthony says, the Eleni article has a lot more material. Also, if we have to delete the Eleni article to make way for the move, we lose all the page history and attribution associated with the current Eleni article, which is undesirable. So in short, I don't think a move is necessary, and we can simply copy relevant text from Elena to Eleni and then make Elena a redirect.  — Amakuru (talk) 14:44, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
