RE: easter egg links
[edit]The simplest test for easter egg links, per WP:EASTEREGG: Also remember there are people who print the articles...In a print version, there is no link to select, and the reference is lost.

- I see eastereggs regularly in plot sections, even in good articles, but in this instance I'm blaming Sjones23, who seemingly reverts to this version every few months whether it's warranted or not. I'm certainly guilty of restoring old versions of plots, but actively proofread to include any improvements. As they are a longtime contributor to many quality articles, I suppose it's their way of quick maintenance. 70.163.208.142 (talk) 22:17, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
- I often remove easter egg links as per WP:EGG and of course, I sometimes restore the plot summaries (including this one) to the ones that are less-than-700 words as per the relevant guidelines at WP:FILMPLOT, which says that summaries are 400 to 700 words only. - I was harsh, clearly you've contributed a lot to this and many articles, it just looked to me like a rote revert, when the summary already met guidelines. Currently everything reads well. 70.163.208.142 (talk) 07:55, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
- No problem. I'm always trying to help. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 07:44, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

Valentin Zukovsky
[edit]I believe it is Bond, not Wade, who suggests his meeting with Valentin Zukovsky. Even though I just watched the film, would like another editor to verify this and, if correct, make the slight correction. MartinLBuchanan (talk) 19:17, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
Where is Severnaya?
[edit]The plot summary here hyperlinks to Severnaya Zemlya, the archipelago in Russia's very far north. However, the film itself never specifies "Zemlya"--and more importantly, we see maps during that sequence of the spot in Russia where Goldeneye is targeting, and it's on the Russian mainland. Considerably inland, in fact. If anything, it looks roughly like the Severny district of Novosibirsk. Severny District, Novosibirsk Oblast It might even be a generic Russian place name, like "Springfield." But at any rate, it's not the archipelago. 2600:1700:67A8:230:185D:6D5F:681C:610A (talk) 23:22, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
