I agree: This entry is a right-wing fairy tale similar to those told about Reagan, but I would add that there are a few relevant criticisms sprinkled in, which makes for a bizarre read. This has to be one of the worst wikis I've ever seen. Sgsmith, nola (talk) 04:45, 30 July 2011 (UTC) perhaps a mention of his renewable energy initiative?[reply]

Done! Can't believe it took this long to add. Mattnad (talk)

POV tag

[edit]

I added the POV tag to target the many pro-Bush phrases used, such as:

  • "impressive performance in the debates"
  • "set higher standards for schools"
  • "reformed the criminal justice system"
  • "cemented Bush's credentials as a pro-business fiscal conservative"
  • "Bush also pioneered faith-based welfare programs"
  • "As governor, he reached out to religious leaders such as Kirbyjon Caldwell"

Now, personally, I'm not his biggest fan, but I think the above examples speak for themselves. Although, in fairness, I think it's fair to say that a significant number of articles on major politicians suffer from a lack of NPOV; red and blue. Now that's an issue that needs to be resolved, not an excuse or reason to allow bias in politicians' articles.

There's nothing like revisionist history.

Bush's record on the Texas economy and education system are some of the worst in the state's history.

This entry is a right-wing fairy tale similar to those told about Reagan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.243.185.116 (talk) 19:19, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm curious to know why the article says Bush "signed the execution warrants for more death row inmates than any other Governor" when in Texas that is the job of trial court judges. Did Bush usurp the judiciary power? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.76.96.152 (talk) 02:41, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 13:07, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
