This is based almost entirely on the work of Margaret A.M. Murray

Everything in this article is derived from the work of Margaret A.M. Murray: her essay, "Women Becoming Mathematicians: Constructing a Professional Identity in Post-World War II America," pp. 37-91 of the volume edited by Jody Bart; and her book, with a similar title, that appears in the list of references. In addition, the biography of Bates in American Women of Science draws on a single reference: Murray's book! The interview with Bates was conducted, not by Valerie Morphew, but by Murray. (Although Valerie Morphew is a contributor to Bart's volume, her much shorter article appears after Murray's and has nothing whatever to do with Grace Bates.) Article quality

The current version of this article reads like a middle-school book report. The text is insipid, poorly organized, and clumsily written. I see that the subject's name is even misspelled at least once. Crappy, crappy stuff.
