Unusual claim

[edit]

The introduction here claimed that "Despite its name, only 7% of the Great Sand Sea is covered by dunes", giving this (Ernst-Michael Steffan, Untersuchungen zur Morphologie und Genese der aeolischen Akkumulationsformen der Ostsahara mit Hilfe der Fernerkundung. Berliner geowissenschaftliche Abhandlungen. 1983) as a reference for the claim. It seems pretty unlikely, and is directly contradicted by the other source on the page, the introduction to Beslers book. As the nearest copy of Steffan's book is in Utrecht, and unreadable to an English-speaking audience, I've deleted it as unverifiable, rather than try to preserve it. I trust everyone is OK with that, Moonraker12 (talk) 23:32, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
