iphone

[edit]

After being with another company for two years, I changed my service and came to Verizon. One would say that I “downgraded” because my previous phone was the iPhone 12 Pro Max & I chose the regular 13. There are a couple camera features that I don’t have now coming from the Pro line, but truthfully I don’t have any regrets. I enjoy the smaller size & its sooo lightweight compared to the Pro Max. It takes great pics and I’m not seeing any glitching with it. I’m having more battery time because once I downloaded iOS 15 on the PM, it drained the battery. Not with this phone though. My only slight con would be, I’m not seeing any 5G, and I live in a town that’s supposedly 5G supported. My last company, I had 5G all the time, but the flip side to this and the reason why I’m not too worried is I use my WiFi most times anyway (I work from home), so it’s not that huge of a deal to me. However, for the phone itself, I have 0 complaints and I thought I would coming from the pro line. I’m very content with this phone & I’ll be rocking with it for a year or two. The pink color is pink enough for me, although others don’t seem to like it. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with my purchase.Less khlaskjdlo ASNDM — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.70.130.29 (talk) 07:27, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Initial development" opening sentence

[edit]

Can someone review the opening sentence in the "Initial Development" section? This is nonsensical to me. --ZimZalaBim talk 03:01, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Split

[edit]

This article frankly has a ton of cruft, and should likely be split off into the current article (with a lesser focus on early history) and a new article called Development of the iPhone, since so many articles and books have been written about that specific topic, including by the iPhone's creators. Ken Kocienda's book would be a good start; the keyboard's developent could take up a whole section. Same with processor choice (x86 vs ARM), the carriers giving Apple more freedom than they gave any other handset manufacturer at the time, etc. A plenty notable topic on its own, I just don't have the time to write it myself.

The lead betrays this problem by reframing the article title as The history of the iPhone development (meh).

I also think Wikipedia in general is lacking in "development of" articles that would be of interest to many readers, possibly due to overly harsh interpretations of WP:NOTABILITY. DFlhb (talk) 16:36, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Genesis of iphone section needs fixing

[edit]

Whoever wrote that section either failed english in high school or was written by a non-native english speaker. Can someone please edit that section to be grammatically correct or just delete it entirely? 2.26.40.69 (talk) 17:19, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's best to delete it entirely. It (poorly) paraphrases information that is covered in what is otherwise a concise and easily-navigable article. Thoughts? Glad Tidings from New York (talk) 23:05, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It was since properly rewritten; and I think it's noteworthy, so I support keeping. DFlhb (talk) 20:02, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Glad Tidings from New York (talk) 00:55, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect years in first paragraph

[edit]

It’s stated that the development of the iPhone began in the early 3000s, and that the first iPhone was released in 2023. That is clearly incorrect information. 205.185.107.47 (talk) 03:41, 28 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's been fixed. Guy Harris (talk) 21:44, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
