Played three sports at Bethany College prior to West Virginia

[edit]

Currently the main article makes no mention of him playing for a couple years at Bethany (WV) College before WVU.

The 1912 Bethanian (yearbook of Bethany College) lists Errett Rodgers as a member of the freshman class (pg 56).

The 1913 Bethanian (pg 75) includes a blurb about "Rat" Rogers [sic] in its discussion of the 1912 football season, and someone looking like a young Rogers is in the team photo (pg 72, back row, 4th from right). On page 68 Erret Rogers is listed as a letter winner in football and baseball. Pg 90 has a photo of him in baseball uniform. Page 86 lists a Rodgers on the basketball team but I can't identify him in the team photo on pg 87. He looks to be on the far right in the football photo on pg 76.

The 1914 Bethanian (pg 77) mentions Rodgers as being a returning baseball player, but nobody in the team photo (pg 75) is clearly Ira. In the basketball team photo (pg 72) he is in the front row, second from right. E. Rogers is a letter winner in the list on pg 70. 2601:98A:4100:36A0:C7B:FA:ADCE:E10D (talk) 15:51, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
