What’s missing from this article?[edit]

What’s the big deal about Sakai Izumi? Why should Wikipedia readers be interested in reading about her? What did she do besides sing? Did she have a big impact on the Japanese music industry or the “music scene”? If so, what was it? Why was she popular? Why were so many other singers and a baseball player so grieved by her death? Was she controversial? Why did fans like her so much? How many records/albums/CDs did she sell?

Without answers to these questions, the long, drawn-out description of her death and funeral(s) are meaningless to people who are not already fans (i.e., most readers of Wikipedia). Please try to provide this kind of information, and attribute it to sources more reliable than tabloid newspapers and fan sites.

今のままでは、一番大事な情報を欠くこの記事は百科辞典にふさわしいものになっていません。それでは坂井さんは可愛そうです。ここでいわんとしていることがわからないときは、talk pageへどうぞ。説明します。Jim_Lockhart 15:46, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You sound like one of those ignorant Westerners who have neither the interest nor the intention of trying to understand Japanese music or society in general. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jafarw (talkcontribs) 02:05, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

I was like the first person response years ago about Izumi. But Izumi is famous for some of her notable songs appeared as theme songs for many popular Japanese animation such as DrangonBall GT, Slam Dunk, Detective Conan and etc. She is a very famous singer in Japan, and her singles, albums and concerts all earned great success in Japan. Her character seems to be rooted with strong and dedicated nature that even "zard" did not show up often in public, since her 6th single, her singles and albums all made top number in the Japan Oricon Chart. It is unfortunate to hear her death caused by the accidental head injury.

Being popular? Wikipedia is not a popular culture toy. However, she was and is famous. The fact that you do not listen Izumi Sakai, does not make her unimportant. Stop seeing yourself as in the centre of the world. For example, in my view you are (who asks that question) nothing, has no importance and if you die one day, I wont feel anything.--hnnvansier (talk) 06:07, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Progress[edit]

For those of you interested, I tried my best to put more information in perspective of who is Izumi Sakai and why her passing caused an uproar. Right now, the article is still in the stage of information gathering and there many leaks coming out now that she is no longer here. So I suggest that the article should just absorb the information. Once there are enough info, then there can be a better structure to organize them. twunga 08/30/2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tw4unga (talkcontribs) 00:44, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kiito Wasurenai Offical Book[edit]

The book cited that Izumi had to stop her career in 2001 because of unnamed illnesses which was all related to the uterine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.84.64.92 (talk) 22:27, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
