Alternate Publication history

According to Greg Potter, co-creator of Jemm, the character was originally meant to be the green-skinned cousin of the Martian Manhunter. This was at a time when the Manhunter had virtually disappeared from the pages of DC Comics. J'onn J'onnz was supposed to have played a supporting role in the series. (The character Jogarr, who was Jemm's cousin, was originally meant to be the Martian Manhunter.) However, after developing the character and selling it to DC, Greg was told by editorial director Dick Giordano that the Manhunter was scheduled to resurface in the pages of Justice League of America. So, for story continuity reasons, Greg reworked the character as the red-skinned Jemm, Son of Saturn.

This text was contributed by someone purpoting to be Greg Potter, I think it should be made available here until it can be verified. --Basique (talk) 13:23, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Basique -- I am Greg Potter and the above paragraph is more accurate than the one that appears in the main page. What would it take to verify my identity? J'onn WAS going to make an appearance in the series as I first conceived it ... and Janice Race didn't become editor of the book until it was renamed "Jemm, Son of Saturn." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.66.112.5 (talk) 20:58, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
