Doctorate[edit]

The article says that his doctorate was in music composition, and lower down that it was on The Origins of Barbershop (a musicology thesis). Which is it?! One sees both stated elsewhere. The latter looks more convincingly substantiated. But his own website implies it is in composition. CursoryBethany (talk) 09:19, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a reason both cannot be true? That is, his thesis was titled "The Origins of Barbershop" while his overall doctorate degree was in music composition? The thesis subtitle mentions recordings and arrangements of early quartets, suggesting an examination of their composition. —ADavidB 13:29, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
