Rail travel[edit]

A lot of stuff on this page was either written by a Kinshasa publicist, or refers to the year 2000 as recent! Rail transport falls into this category. Whereas the Kinshasa/Matadi line may have been done up during Kabila the Father's time, even then it was on dodgy track and likely to break down in bandit territory! There isn't really the capacity in the DRC to maintain a railway, let alone skill level, or indeed the demand! As far as I know, today in 2023, it doesn't run.
