Wikipedia has technical limitations which require a split article OR other fix

[edit]

As shown in this edit from March 9, 2020, Wikipedia's software is unable to display the page in its entirety.

The options are to split the page, which is the state it was in prior to March 9 and the state I restored it to, to reduce the content, to reduce the usage of templates and modules, to re-write the templates and modules so they do not consume as much of the 2,048,000-byte limit of the "Post-expand include size" discussed here.

The other alternative is to change the Wikimedia software that Wikipedia uses so the limit is higher. This won't happen any time soon.

As all of the viable solutions are potentially "controversial," any long-term solution should be discussed first either here or at Talk:List of U.S. state representatives (Montana to Wyoming). Wherever it is discussed, a note should be left on the other talk page.

To make the page usable, "something" had to be done as an "emergency fix." So, I reverted back to the status quo ante. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:24, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
