Update of men oldest

[edit]

the oldest man is currently https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fauja_Singh none the one mentioned on this page

Please see the Shi Ping topic above. The same applies. Softmist (talk) 17:11, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What Shi Ping topic? I can't see one.
Wikipedia says that
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shi_Ping_(politician)
died on 29 June 2024 aged 112 years, 241 days. Is that sufficient for him to be included in the top 100 oldest ever men?
StuZealand (talk) 09:37, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's in the archives here. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 09:48, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
StuZealand, He needs to be validated by a reliable source (Gerontology Research Group, Longiviquest etc.) He is not included currently because I think he is still in pending validation. Smartboy78 (talk) 03:35, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Softmist, I don't think this man is validated by any reliable source. Smartboy78 (talk) 03:41, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, Fauja Singh isn't, and I don't think he will be anytime soon. Softmist (talk) 05:27, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Keep a watch for Vincent Dransfield

[edit]

I do not see Vincent Dransfield listed yet in "Supercentenarian Data -- Table E". Gerontology Research Group Index Page, as of [1997 - 2007]. 2024-04-02. GRG World Supercentenarian Rankings List]; however, given that Dransfield's birth date is 1914-03-28 & that his birthday was six days before GRC compiled the current list, it is probable that he was not a high priority for certification.

As of 28 August 2025, it appears that Dransfield would be eligible for the List of the verified oldest people#100 verified oldest men, should he live that long & be verified by the GRC.

Peaceray (talk) 20:48, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

According to this, Dansfield is validated https://gerontology.fandom.com/wiki/Vincent_Dransfield GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 00:17, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As he is several months too young for inclusion in this list, this thread violates the note at the top of this talk page: "This is not a forum for general discussion of the article's subject." DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 01:08, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Source 11 is dead

[edit]

The NHK article link returns some sort of "no article found" error. The article on Kane Tanaka's death seems to be gone 91.230.13.164 (talk) 16:44, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved
I added the archive URL information & marked the original as dead. Peaceray (talk) 01:24, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update history (AGAIN)

[edit]

I see by the list that a deceased woman and a deceased man was added but no mention in the update. Now how is anyone supposed to know WHO was added if you don't put it in the history? This isn't rocket science and it's not that hard. In fact, if it's too hard then don't do the update either. So now can someone tell me who was added to both lists? Or is that too much work too? GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 03:38, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please click on the button that says "prev" for the row of the relevant edit and that will show you exactly what was changed. Easter Wiggins was added to the oldest women list (rank 60), while Stanisław Kowalski was added to the oldest men list (rank 61). Softmist (talk) 07:08, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No reason that can't be added to the edit history instead of making people hunt for it. GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 03:57, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Add that a woman, Lillian Elliot from Guyana that is alive was verified as born on July 31, 1909. The source to the newspaper article is here: https://uncutnews.co/2024/03/guyanas-oldest-resident-receives-gift-of-new-home-from-generous-philanthropist/. 24.186.141.111 (talk) 01:05, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A newspaper article does not count as verified. The article only includes people whose age has been "validated by organisations specialising in extreme age verification". DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 02:01, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Missing person

[edit]

Mary Schultz lived to 115 and is not on this list, this should be updated reflecting this. Beaumobile (talk) 15:11, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done You hae not provided verification from reliable sources. Peaceray (talk) 17:31, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oldest person in the world

[edit]

professor lenana from Kenya 154.159.254.172 (talk) 13:00, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

132yrs 154.159.254.172 (talk) 13:00, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Does not qualify for inclusion in this article, even with a WP:RS. Too old for Longevity claims. Possibly include in Longevity myths. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 21:26, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Age as of ...........

[edit]

Could we add "Age as of (..date..)" to the age column? It seems updates are done at various times so it's hard to tell if the age for corrected yet for that day or not. This is done on several other Wiki "Oldest People" sites. I'd even help with the updates but I've learned that if you make the slightest mistake you invoke the wrath of God from a certain person, so I'm not doing it. GermanShepherd1983 (talk) 01:55, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Above list is totally wrong, there's still a living man in India who's age is around 125 year named svami sivananda. He recently came into limelight after receiving one of the India's most precious award i.e, Padma Bhushan. https://www.google.com/search?q=swami+sivananda+padma+shri&sca_esv=1fc18fc5814bda98&sxsrf=ADLYWIISiHjIojPFyrOwg0Ti9qv-JYceRA%3A1719028395422&ei=q0p2Zq6rGbiQseMP3KqsyAU&gs_ssp=eJzj4tVP1zc0LDSOTzaqyksyYPSSKi5PzM1UKM4sS8xLzEtJVChITMlNVCjOKMoEAC9MDqU&oq=swami+shivananda+padma+&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIhdzd2FtaSBzaGl2YW5hbmRhIHBhZG1hICoCCAAyBxAuGIAEGA0yBxAAGIAEGA0yBhAAGBYYHjILEAAYgAQYhgMYigUyCxAAGIAEGIYDGIoFMgsQABiABBiGAxiKBTILEAAYgAQYhgMYigUyBxAhGKABGApI1TpQtglYiyxwAXgBkAEAmAHXAqAB_w6qAQUyLTUuMrgBAcgBAPgBAZgCCKAC6BDCAgoQABiwAxjWBBhHwgINEAAYgAQYsAMYQxiKBcICFhAuGIAEGLADGEMY1AIYyAMYigXYAQHCAhMQLhiABBiwAxhDGMgDGIoF2AEBwgINEC4YgAQYFBjUAhiHAsICCxAAGIAEGJECGIoFwgIHEAAYgAQYCsICBRAAGIAEwgIHEC4YgAQYCsICDRAAGIAEGLEDGIMBGArCAgsQLhiABBiRAhiKBcICCBAAGAUYDRgemAMAiAYBkAYMugYECAEYCJIHBzEuMC40LjOgB4JC&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp 2409:40E6:10:C922:8076:2FF:FE5E:AFC3 (talk) 04:02, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As noted multiple times in the archives of this page and others: He is in Longevity claims where he belongs. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 04:12, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Surely Shi Ping (politician) merits a spot

[edit]

He lived to 112 years and 241 days. Beestalman (talk) 13:55, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

His age is currently pending by both LongeviQuest and the GRG, once he's fully validated he will be added to the list. Milus331 (talk) 20:36, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see, thank you. Beestalman (talk) 05:15, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
He is now fully validated by the GRG. Milus331 (talk) 22:00, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's excellent, thank you for letting me know. Beestalman (talk) 06:23, 4 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is eiko Minami still alive?

[edit]

I was checking and read Gerontology wiki (is Eiko minami still alive?) she was born in 1909 she was a dance actress known for the 1926 Japanese film "A Page of Madness", but the strange thing is that English and Japanese Wikipedia mentions nothing about her date of death. If she were still alive she would be the fourth-oldest living person in the world Not sure I doubt if she is still alive https://m.imdb.com/name/nm1272552/ Nicubining (talk) 00:45, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Johnson Parks

[edit]

LongeviQuest has more or less debunked his age. Should he be removed? Avengingbandit 05:28, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. The GRG will likely follow in the upcoming days. Milus331 (talk) 14:41, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
