terminology

[edit]

Is "gay male-to-female transvestite" the correct term?

I highly doubt it. The words "gay" and "straight" are highly subjective when transvestite/transgenders are concerned. I'll think of a more accurate term and then implement it.

OK, if "shi" is a transvestite (as opposed to a full-blown transexual), shouldn't "shi" be described with masculine pronouns, since "shi" is still anatomically a male?

Is this person a transvestite or a transperson? From my knowledge, a transvestite is a person who gets sexually excited of wearing the clothes of the different sex, although not questioning his gender identity in other ways? Btw, how do you think "shi" should be classified at List of homosexuals and bisexuals in comic fiction? 惑乱 分からん 12:16, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lord Fanny identifies as female, and that's how her teammates refer to her.

The character in her "Lord Fanny" persona identifies as a feminine bruja shaman-woman, yes. But biologically the body of Lord Fanny remains male. I don't think that Fanny herself identifies as "Transgendered". Can we open this up for discussion? Gnosis1185 00:11, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia's article about transgender should clear some confusion

In the series, she explicitly says that she hasn't had the operation, nor does she intend to. "A chick with a dick is still a..." (somewhere in volume 2, I don't have the reference handy). I've changed it elsewhere, but I'm hesitant to do it here because the statement is referenced (although I can't access the reference). Exactly what does "The Vertigo Encyclopedia" say? Proposed move

[edit]

Why is this page at "Lord Fanny (comics)", with a redirect from "Lord Fanny"? Isn't the (comics) disambiguation necessary? 惑乱 分からん 11:22, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fictional anarchist?

[edit]

With this character being in the Fictional anarchists category, there should be something in the text of the article justifying the placement. Murderbike (talk) 01:51, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
