Dates[edit]

This article just follows the dates provided in Damrong. AFAIK, none of the Siamese chronicles says Maha Chakkraphat came to power in 1548; the year they give is either 1529/30 or 1547/48. Yes, Damrong is right that the Burmese invasion of mainland Siam took place in 1548, but per the Burmese chronicles the war began a year earlier in Tenasserim in 1547, which is in agreement with Luang Prasert. I suspect Damrong simply assigned the invasion of mainland Siam as the accession year of Maha Chakkraphat. (Damrong 2001: 14–15) gives no explanation or notes as to why CS 910.

Overall, we also need to check the death dates of the prior kings Yotfa and Worawongsathirat. None of them are in sync. We have specific death dates 11 June 1548 and 11 November 1548 for those kings. But 11 June 1548 doesn't check out with the given Chula Sakarat date given in the Yotfa article, and 11 November 1548 doesn't have a citation and doesn't line up with Worawongsathirat's 42 days of reign.
