Méndez Grever

[edit]

Why do some sources have Méndez? In ictu oculi (talk) 13:10, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to be some confusion about her birth date. The article claims she was born 16 August 1885 but says, "For the first six years of her life she lived in Mexico City, moving to her father's natal city, Sevilla, in 1888." 1885 + 6 does not equal 1888. Also the External Link to her passport photos has the comment, "Also the usual birth date given for Maria is Aug 16, 1894 which is almost certainly wrong. Her two passport applications give her birth date as Aug 16 of either 1888 or 1889."

This web site discusses the issue and says "her baptism certificate says she was born on September 14th, 1885 in Leon, Guanajuato." http://www.mexiconewsnetwork.com/news/grand-romantic-composer-maria-grever/

Assuming that's correct, then the sentence about the first six years of her life should be changed. Alan Bloom (talk) 02:53, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
