The quotation that Midnightdreary removed[edit]

Its removal is fine with me; even more than confusing, it is unnecessary, and the sentences before and after it flow better without it. Moreover, the citation to page xi is wrong, but I couldn't find the right page. Page xi is at amazon.com, and the quotation is not on it. I found the quotation at Google Books, but Google Books doesn't provide page numbers. I am suspicious of the other page citations in the paragraph as well. The person who put them in used "pp" to designate "page" (singular) and capitalized the first letter in the Roman numbers, e.g., Xi. I fixed those errors, but couldn't check the page numbers.Maurice Magnus (talk) 02:21, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It's very possible that the preview edition digitized on Amazon is different from the edition I used when I made comprehensive edits to this article 10 years ago (or whenever it was). --Midnightdreary (talk) 14:24, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
