25 lakhs

[edit]

Would you say '25 lakhs Indians emigrate' or '25 lakh Indians'? --142.163.194.116 (talk) 18:26, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Diaspora (Overseas Indian)Overseas Indian – What confusing name is the current one? It is not even boldened in the lead. If this proposed name is not accepted, Non-Resident Indian or Overseas Citizens of India shoudl do. Support - looking at the page history, there have been 5 page moves this year - none of which were discussed. We need to agree, and stick to, a simple description - Arjayay (talk) 12:04, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Comment The pre-move title was Non-resident Indian and Overseas Citizen of India I believe. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 22:50, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Relisting comment: for a longer duration to establish a more solid consensus, given the number of moves (5!) made this year. – robertsky (talk) 02:13, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

'Overseas Indians' indicate only those with Indian citizenship and not those with OCI/PIO cards.
WP:COMMONNAME: Indian diaspora is the commonly used term for all collective Indians/Indian diaspora and again, Overseas Indians is not used as such because of the aforementioned reason.
Thanks, User4edits (talk) 17:29, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Then perhaps you want this moved to Indian diaspora, mention it. The current title violates WP:NCCAPS. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:28, 8 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
