I found a copy of an essay by Pritsak on the origin of the Slavs offering an unconventional explanation. The essay is titled The Slavs and the Avars. No details of time and place available. Central thesis: the first Slavs were Lithuanian mercenaries employed by the Avars in the 6th century to pretect their territory. Ontologix (talk) 21:22, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
