  • another possible name might be (network), since it is more in line with the US model of TV stations and channels. But from the dutch origins I prefer (broadcaster) The DJ 16:24, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strongly support. VARA (tv) is clearly wrong, as VARA is a radio and tv broadcaster; the need to fix links should be no obstacle (I am prepared to do the fixing!) -- Picapica 00:39, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done. —Nightstallion (?) Seen this already? 19:14, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello VARA! Thanks for your uploading of "The Beatles'" photos (1964). Can you please upload some more their photos?

VARA / BNN merger

[edit]

The infobox entry marked "Dissolved" is very misleading, I think.

As I understand it, the Omroepvereniging VARA (VARA broadcasting association), with its around 410,000 individual members, still exists, as does the Omroepvereniging BNN (around 340,000 members). What happened on 1 January 2014 is that on that date a new association, Omroepvereniging BNN-VARA, was set up – with just two members: Omroepvereniging BNN and Omroepvereniging VARA – and while it is, legally speaking, the new association that broadcasts on the channels and during the hours which have been allocated to it under the Dutch Media Act 2008, its constituent member associations, BNN and VARA, have not been dissolved and continue to function.

This is all better explained in the text of the article, I believe, than summarized (inadequately) in the infobox. I've set it out here first, though, in case any other editors might want to point out any errors in my understanding of the situation! -- Picapica (talk) 00:54, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
