Move proposal

[edit]

I propose we rename this article to the more generic "payment terminal" as these types of terminals handle more than just credit cards. Most of the content applies to debit cards and other types of cards just as much as credit cards. Sargdub (talk) 21:22, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Why not?"

[edit]

Is there a "MINI-payement terminal", "personal" for all persons, to pay and to have a list of EURO spent for shopping? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.38.65.148 (talk) 08:38, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"EMV?"

[edit]

EMV redirects here from Google, the abbreviation is twice on this article, but I still don't know what it stands for. Does anyone know? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.55.73.44 (talk) 09:36, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The first mention is linked to the EMV article, that explains where it comes from in the history. EMV stands for Europa, Mastercard, Visa, the original members of the standard group. Sargdub (talk) 01:34, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
