Mistaken portrait
[edit]The gentleman from the portrait is clearly from the early 19th century (sideburns and stiff collar). This is Pedro Fages (powdered hair, 18th-century coat)_"http://mojavedesert.net/people/fages.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.8.98.118 (talk) 10:21, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- The portrait is most definitely not of Pedro Fages. It is a cropped engraving of Emperor Pedro I of Brazil. Cristiano Tomás (talk) 23:18, 17 April 2019 (UTC)
Why move the article?
[edit]Every citation and reference listed for this article uses the name Pedro Fages. Seems to be the overwhelmingly most common name (in English) for this person. So what's the basis for moving to another name? Has this move been discussed anywhere?Glendoremus (talk) 21:44, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
- I also am puzzled by the move. The spelling of Fages' name may have been different in his native region, but this article in the English-language Wikipedia is about the Spanish soldier. English-speakers and all English-language sources know Fages by the Spanish version of his name, and this is not a helpful change. WCCasey (talk) 18:28, 1 April 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback. I'm moving it back to Pedro Fages.Glendoremus (talk) 18:47, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
