The name

[edit]

The name should be Phalgu, as the commonly used spelling (e.g. 84000 ghits for Phalgu river vs 40000 for Falgu river, even with the Wikipedia article tilting the balance toward the latter.). It is also the name used in the map on the district website and in primary references, and is the usual transliteration of the Hindi name. Standard Hindi does not contain a native aspirant 'f'. Proposed merge of Lilajan River with Phalgu River

[edit]

These two articles are about the same river, only names different. Common name, I believe, is Phalgu. --SM7--talk-- 21:07, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I agree. THe Lilajan river page should be merged into the Phalgu river page. User:Yellow alligator 21:00, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose, both articles describe these as different rivers, with the Phalgu River forming as the confluence of the Lilajan River and Mohana River. There is overlap in the Buddhism section, perhaps best resolved by deleting from the Phalgu River#Buddhism page to remove the duplication (but retain a link from that section to Lilajan River#Buddhism).
