"Notoriety"?

We read that It was here that Provo Wallis gained most of his notoriety. I don't understand: what is or was notorious about Wallis? -- Hoary 07:12, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

I don't know the answer to your Hoary question but I wonder if anyone has an authentic picture of this admiral. Presumably the British Admiralty would have a painting or paintings but does anyone else have an authentic image of Provo Wallis? AussieOzborn au 08:20, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
