Former rent boy?

[edit]

There's nothing in here about how RE financed his early career by engaging in male prostitution? It's a well-known fact that has been reported in the media and acknowledged by Everett himself. Unsavory or not, it is a fact worth noting.174.99.62.107 (talk) 22:28, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is mentioned in the Early life section. Jim Michael (talk) 08:21, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's also fiction, along with the claim that he was thrown out of 'Central' for insubordination, inventions of the man himself. Pincrete (talk) 15:22, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed removal of the The Apprentice UK template

[edit]

I have started a discussion at Template talk:The Apprentice UK proposing the removal of template {{The Apprentice UK}} from this article (and the articles on other celebrities having appeared in the show). Please contribute your opinions to a discussion there. UkPaolo/talk 10:07, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dylan Dog

[edit]

The page says that Everett was an inspiration for Tiziano Sclavi's creation of the "investigator of nightmares", Dylan Dog. I wonder how this is possible, considering that Everett was largely unknown in 1986, when DD was first published. Any thoughts? --82.207.219.3 19:35, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Everett wasn't unknown in Europe. By 1986 he had starred in two fairly high profile British films that were both well received at Cannes, and Everett himself had been nominated for a BAFTA for "best newcomer to film".89.168.99.5 (talk) 12:51, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Colombian film

[edit]

I saw a little known Columbian film "Cronica de una Muerte Anunciada" based on a novel written by the famous author Garcia Marquez. In this movie he plays a man who marries a girl in a small town in Columbia and starts a scandle in the town because he discovers that she is not a virgin on her wedding night. The gossip soon escalades that the two brothers of the bride must murder the young man who is responsible to defend her honor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.70.129.88 (talk) 14:22, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are a number of links that are news articles not referenced from the main text but stuck in the external links section. This runs counter to the advice given at WP:NOTNEWS. Unless there are major objections I shall shortly move them to this talk page until an editor is prepared to use them as factual sources for the main text.—Teahot (talk) 18:54, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Everett's family

[edit]

I believe there is some confusion about Everett's ancestry. There seem to be two separate men named Donald Charles Hugh MacLean.

One died on 12 April 1909, and left by his wife, Gwendoline Hope (of the Marquesses of Linlithgow), an only son, Sir Hector Charles Donald Maclean (d.2003). Sir Hector married Opre Vyvyan and had issue, including a grandson, the actor Rupert Everett.

The other was Sir Donald Charles Hugh Maclean (1864-1932), who married one Gwendoline Devitt and had issue, including the spy, Donald MacLean.

The current Wikipedia entry on Rupert Everett correctly lists his grandparents, but says that his great-grandfather was the second Donald Charles Hugh MacLean, not the first, and says that Donald Maclean was his great-uncle. I suggest that this seems to be an error.

You are correct. All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 16:29, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just a thought

[edit]

Someone should note his role on the show Boston Legal. He was one of the many good characters. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.221.170.26 (talk) 20:00, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
