Merge[edit]

I saw the merge tag without any discussion. Obviously they are the same topics. If nobody objects, I will merge Three Star Gods into this article. --PalaceGuard008 (Talk) 22:24, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Use of the three stars[edit]

Should this article make mention of the practical value of these three stars to the ancient Chinese? Lu could be used to find North and Shou could be used to find South. (That has changed now due to precession of the axes.) Fu could be used to determine the current year within the 12-year cycle of the Chinese calendar, because Jupiter's orbit was approximately 12 years long. It was known as the "Year Star" for that reason. 99.235.186.116 (talk) 19:54, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
