Scio the unincorporated community[edit]

48130 is not the only zipcode, i live in 48103 and I live in scio township. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.176.249.232 (talk) 01:15, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I live in Scio Township, and as far as I know there is no longer any place called Scio. Scio was a town that grew and then disappeared in the 19th century. I was a ghost town for a while, and now there is nothing but some woods and a subdivision at the site. Can whoever write that passage provide a citation? · rodii · 02:10, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is listed as a populated place in the USGS GNIS database [1]. I'll update the entry to indicate that it is a historical locale rather than a current place name. olderwiser 12:49, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, thanks. It's been a personal interest of mine to figure out just where Scio was and whether there are any remains extant. I've never found any to date, but that'll help me look! I appreciate the cite. · rodii · 16:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Delhi Tornado[edit]

Somone told me of a tornado that tore through the settlement, as can be evidenced from wood pilings near the bridge. Any verification? MMetro (talk) 02:31, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
