"Site Critical of"
[edit]Does turncoat.ca have to be on this page? It seems nothing more then a hatchet job on him. Habsfannova 03:11, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
- From the looks of it, yes, it is a hatchet job (especially the POV parts, obviously). The quotations voiced there seem to be properly sourced. Looks like this site hasn't had any action since June 2004, however. I'm guessing some bitter Tory created this site to vent his spleen, though the site laughably claims to be "non-partisan" (if it's non-partisan, why is he a turncoat?). The site does seem to carry factual information, so I'm inclined to say the link should be left intact. On 23 February 2007 the site will go away anyhow.
- I'm surprised that "turncoat.ca" hasn't expanded its mission to include Belinda Stronach. If Brison's defection was a deep cut to the Tories, Stronach's departure was a decapitation. Cleduc 05:40, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
They did do one on Ms. Stronach...horribly sexist in my mind. On her talk page, they did a discussion and decided to remove it.Habsfannova 05:47, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's pretty vile. I don't think it's in the same vein, though -- the Stronach site doesn't seem to have any actual quotes or positions, just vicious bile. Doesn't seem to have been made by the same people, either (or they're not as dumb as I'm sure they are). To me it is not a valid precedent, and the link should probably stay. Cleduc 06:20, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, guess so. Habsfannova 17:27, 11 July 2005 (UTC)
The site is now dead - no response, and Google doesn't seem to be able to index it. I'm removing it now. Cleduc 17:03, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
what's a "Young Turk" ?
- According to the American Heritage dictionary, " A young progressive or insurgent member of an institution, movement, or political party."Habsfannova 19:19, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Delete from second paragraph
[edit]The portion "and was Canada's first openly gay member of Cabinet, though not the first gay Canadian Member of Parliament" should be deleted in its entirety: it's trivia. Modal Jig (talk) 15:11, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
