Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:The Illustration of The Siberian War, No. 16. The Japanese Army Occupied Vragaeschensk (Blagoveshchensk).jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on May 23, 2012. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2012-05-23. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng {chat} 16:42, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Occupation of Blagoveshchensk by the Japanese Army
A Japanese lithograph depicting the capture of Blagoveshchensk, Siberia, by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Siberian Intervention, part of a larger effort by the western powers and Japan to support White Russian forces against the Bolshevik Red Army during the Russian Civil War. The Allied invasion took place in August 1918, and Japanese troops remained in Russia until October 1922.Image: Shobido & Co.; Restoration: Adam Cuerden

A photo on the page

[edit]

The caption under one of the photos on this page states that the killed people were Bolsheviks. However, the summary on the image's page tells us that they were in fact Czechoslovaks. A caption on the article on Czechoslovak Legion conveys the same meaning.

The caption under this photo File:Bolshveki killed at Vladavostak.jpg is contradictory with the one in Czechoslovak Legions. -Aronlee90 (talk) 18:07, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Helloa Aronlee, in Summary writen the source of the photo and correct description, if You like after the weekend I can sent You a print of the publication by Military History Services of Czech Republic and Security Services Archive of Czech Republic with a correct description of the original photo. Removing question about UK participation

[edit]

Removing the sentence, "What about the 2/6th cycle brigade of the Royal Sussex Regiment sent from India to Vladivostok ?" Maybe it's an interesting question, but it surely doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. Dgndenver (talk) 23:13, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
