The primary reason for the Snake war was the Homestead Act of 1862. That was enacted because Lincoln snd his radicals created a depression and giving away land was how they bought bites. ALL of the land opened for settlers was our treaty lands. Whites didn’t “encroach”, they swarmed. Lincoln sent Buffalo Soldiers snd bounty hunters to kill us and steal our kind. That what happened in the Valley If A Thousand Springs, Bear River and the Mahluer Indian Reservation. Lincoln was no hero. That bastard bought votes with Indian lives. 2600:6C55:4AF0:A320:8CFB:29A1:6FE7:449E (talk) 02:53, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
