UK

[edit]

In the United Kingdom, sympathy strikes were outlawed under the Thatcher government in 1980

I was under the impression that it was outlawed in 1927, can anyone confirm that extra legislation was passed in 1980; possibly the name of the act. Y control 12:10, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Trade Disputes and Trade Unions Act 1927 did outlaw secondary picketing, but crucially this was overturned by the post-war Labour government in the Trade Disputes and Trade Unions Act 1946. It was not until the Employment Act 1980 that restrictions were again placed on secondary picketing, being banned entirely in the Employment Act 1990, and codified in the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, so the article as currently written is factually incorrect. Banned by the Sherman anti-trust act?

[edit]

What of it's predecessor? The Clayton Anti-Trust act? Doesn't that act allow for exemption of Union boycotts from the sherman act?Serialjoepsycho (talk) 08:49, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sweden

[edit]

The discussion on Sweden consists of a 2023 case of Tesla. This might be interesting in an article on Tesla or in a timeframe of few years, as it will become clear if this is important at the level of such a broad topic. I will add regular text on Sweden based on a comparative review source. I also propose to delete the text about Tesla in the spirit of WP:NOTNEWS and WP:UNDUE.
