Stonehenge Construction

[edit]

Watching the Stonehenge Decoded documentary and discussion of large scale winter feasting and temporary occupation by large numbers of visitors at this time, it struck me that this farming society showed parallels to ancient Egypt where the annual floods provided a large non-professional workforce for the donkey work of pyramid etc construction... As an agrarian society, ancient Britons were seriously under employed in Winter. What if it was WINTER when Stonehenge was constructed? Lots of farmers with little else to do, in addition the ground was potentially hard with Frost and perhaps the drag runs of the sarsons were even made ultra low friction by being glazed with frozen water?
