Merge

[edit]

I would vote a strong no to merging with Channel (geography). A Channel has a very specific meaning in marine navigation that has almost nothing to do with a stream bed. --- Safemariner 17:53, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I vote no as well, and will remove the tag, which has been on for a month. MadMaxDog 00:13, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lake bed

[edit]

Someone with knowledge of these matters might wish to create Lake bed and Creek bed articles and/or redirects and develop all the links. There are 241 hits at the moment for lake bed as two words, and 178 hits as one word (lakebed). Creek bed, which might be much the same as a stream bed, has 130 hits, with 30 more as one word (creekbed). Someone might also wish to wrestle with the bed (disambiguation) article, to offer a discussion of the use of the word bed in words like seabed, lake bed, creek bed, and this stream bed article. Seems to me it needn't be simply a list of words with "bed" in them. I just reworked the Lake Erie article and found the word lakebed in it and was curious as to its Wiki status. --Pat (talk) 19:56, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
