Previously unknown preparatory study[edit]

This article makes reference to "a previously unknown preparatory study for Madox Brown's The Last of England... not seen in public since 1865", to be exhibited shortly. Anyone know more about it? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 15:48, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This may be the "detailed compositional drawing" mentioned in the text. If it was seen in public in 1865 it can't be "previously unknown" - I guess this is just a poor choice of wording, perhaps they mean it was thought to be lost. Yomanganitalk 16:18, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've found the gallery's press release, and their page about the exhibition, neither of which is enlightening on this matter. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 17:32, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
