Merge request

[edit]

Hello @Giresunlu1993, you tagged this article for merge req a while ago, can you provide explanation as to why? I'm not going to participate in the discussion as it's out of my expertise, but feel like these proposals need explanations. toobigtokale (talk) 02:52, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

May need diversifying

[edit]

Are there solid reasons to prioritize Müller's usage as the primary meaning of "Turanian languages" on Wikipedia (e.g. from secondary sources)? His is just one out of the many variations of "some family that involves agglutinative languages in Central Asia", and it is hard to find anything that accepts his really very idiosyncratic definition as-is. The term as such is common enough to surely warrant at least one article, but we do not have a standing policy that any relationship proposed by anyone is notable enough for its own article entirely. --Trɔpʏliʊmblah 10:17, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We don't write articles about terms. As for secondary sources, Poppe (1965) and Campbell & Poser (2006) relate Müller's classification (as an obsolete proposal). Kanguole 15:54, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
