Upholland → Up Holland – Per the Ordnance Survey, this is the current name of the settlement and civil parish, however it appears "Upholland" was common in the past but isn't now. Note that the high school, Up Holland High School is named with 2 words while Upholland railway station is named with just 1. Note that even if the village article isn't moved, Listed buildings in Upholland should still be since it would be harder to argue that the CP would be spelled today with just 1 word. - Support per nom. While both forms are common, "Up Holland" is used by the parish council, the parish church, and on local road signs. This is my neck of the woods so I can speak from local knowledge rather than just a quick google search. PC78 (talk) 17:34, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Upholland is not a part of Skelmersdale.
[edit]Postal / boundary changes in the late 60's 70's because of financial incentives for Skelmersdale taking in the overflow of Liverpools slums. Did nothing for Upholland, trying to merge the names by the back door also never worked. Upholland has always affiliated its self with Wigan and always will. 37.60.105.165 (talk) 22:13, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
